Disney Box Office Roundup - Feb 25

Hi Disney friends,

Another weekend has come and gone and Disney dominance continues. Black Panther pattern of raising expectations as time passes was on display again. When the weekend began, Deadline.com was projecting a $94 mil weekend, then on Saturday, the estimate was up to $101 mil and now it is standing at $108 mil, which gives this film the second highest second weekend of all time (Star Ward: The Force Awakens holds the record for the highest weekend.) Of course with this film, who knows the estimates could still be to low. To give some more context to this film.

It is already the 29th highest grossing domestic film of all time.

It is the highest grossing initial Marvel film of all time.

It is currently the 5th highest grossing film of Marvel films (The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, and Captain America: Civil War are the other 4 films that are higher.)

The film has grossed more than the next six films combined.

It is tied with Jurassic World for the second fastest to $400 mil.

The film has also crossed the $700 mil mark on a global scale.

Next up for the film will be the release of the film in Russia (limited release occurred today,) Japan and China. Next week, the House of Mouse release will face 2 new wide release films.

Thank you for spending time reading this and if you need any help planning a Disney vacation, please let me know.
